Mabel Morton nee Brownbill, wife of Richard Morton, Mother to Richard Johnston, Mabel, George Edward and Gladys Morton pictured outside the Baker Street, corner shop they owned until the slum clearances of 1966. It sold everything imaginable, it had the aroma of bacon and coffee and as a child I remember the tempting sweets in jars and the dark back parlour, quite insanitary conditions but that was then and we expect more today.
