Kempston Street in 1926 with steeps steps up to each front door, providing the height to allow light to enter through cellar windows. These were large three storey properties. The classic car on the left looks like a very early Ford, the only one in the street. Kempston Street still stands, near to the old TJ Hughes store on London Road.
