Beatrice Street

Beatrice Street
  1. Ken Rogers says:
Not sure about the street nicknames, Hilary, but we all carried personal nicknames. I was 'Podge' just linked with my name: Rogers. If you go back on the Lost Tribe site and search on the 'Our History' button, there is actually a story there entitled 'When We All Had A Nickname' that you might find interesting.
  2. Hilary Chapman says:
My great aunt was born in Beatrice Street, and while the family moved around different houses in the neighbourhood, like other siblings they were often given the name by baptism or 'nick name' of the street they were born in! Was this a known thing to do?
  3. Ken Rogers says:
    Beatrice Street in 1948
  4. Ken Rogers says:
Anyone for cricket? The oller that was Beatrice Street to Sanderson with Opie to the right.
  5. Ken Rogers says:
Beatrice Street at its junction with 'Greaty'.
  6. Ken Rogers says:
Beatrice Street had access from the adjacent Robsart Street and Arkwright Street. The bottom end of Beatrice Street faced out onto Great Homer Street with Chapel Gardens and Penrhyn Street opposite. If you have an image of Beatrice Street, please upload it.
