Whittle Street stables

Whittle Street was between Kirkdale Road and Smith Street, the latter running into Westminster Road. It is viewed here from Kirkdale Road. I remember Whittle Street for its rag and bone yard on the left where, as kids, we would take the jam jars we had collected, just to earn a few old pennies. Whittle Street now has a large five a side football venue on one side of the street, near Everton Valley.
