  1. Tony F says:
Mary Minnie White at No. 21 Verger Street was born in 1880 and lived on Verger Street from at least 1945 until she died in 1966. She shared the house with her husband Walter Stanley White (born 1879) until he died in 1955. I'm told the house was "dark and ancient"!
  2. Tony F says:
I have looked at the Electoral Rolls for 1945-1967 on ancestry.co.uk. 1967 is the last one I can find, so maybe the street was demolished by 1968. Of the 16 families living on Verger Street in 1960, 11 were already there in 1945. Some arrived later: Bebb (1949), Evans (1956/7), Johnson (1959), Lever (1947), McCabe (1956)
  3. Brian Hale says:
Verger street memories. Has anyone got stories or photos of verger street?
